US Government persecution of people exercising their human rights has a long and ugly history. The people who took part in the peaceful assemblies, myself included, would be added to this history systematic of repression. The monitoring of the peaceful Occupy assembly began the instant the call to action was announced. The monitoring of peaceful political assemblies was done by private mercenary companies and every branch of government including the military. The federal government and private firms went beyond passive monitoring of the peaceful political assemblies and actively employed informants to infiltrate and disrupt these assemblies. The informants also created false threats which disrupted the assemblies and furthered the propaganda and force used against people peacefully exercising their political opinion. The FBI even protected a person plotting assassination attempts against “Occupy leadership,” by redacting their informant’s name from public disclosure. Privately and federally coordinated nationwide repression through violence, monitoring, infiltration, disruption, propaganda campaigns and concealing assassination plans is only the tip of the depths the state is willing to go in order to violate our Human Rights to peacefully assemble and form political opinions.
In the fall of 2011 a similar thread of political discontent ran through every occupy assembly across the nation against the private interests that controlled the governments of the United States of America. In order to protect its own power and the power of its private owners the Federal Government directed a violent nationwide repression of people’s human rights to peacefully assemble and express their political opinion. The private and federal directed repression is documented; however the documentation is not complete. This documentation is not complete because of federal, state and private actor’s destruction, redaction's and withholding of information. Another reason it is not complete because the federal government through the FBI is on record as assisting and in most cases completely creating terrorist threats. These terrorist threats which the FBI subsequently entraps people with, making all information of the FBI’s “investigation,” (entrapment) redacted from public disclosure. Documents were also uncovered showing the Department of Homeland Security also assisted in the private interests and the FBI in directing repression and monitoring of peaceful political assemblies. Most of what we know of the coordinated repression comes from worryingly redacted record releases obtained from the FBI and DHS or from freely recovered intelligence files.
The Governments of the United States of America even detail one aspect of their surveillance maintained to protect private interests, when they referred to Operation Tripwire on P. 70 of the FBI documents.
¨Operation Tripwire, formerly known as Operation Sentry, was initiated in 2009 and was patterned after the New York Police Department’s Operation Nexus, a similar terrorist prevention initiative. In 2011, Operation Sentry was renamed to Operation Tripwire to be consistent with the FBI’s business/industry initiative.¨
¨Operation Tripwire is a program which establishes community contacts with a network of businesses and industries in an effort to prevent terrorist acts. The Tripwire program relies on the community to report suspicious encounters which may have possible links to terrorism. Terrorist activities do not occur in a bubble and often reveal themselves in the process of gathering materials, monies, and manpower to achieve their criminal acts. Operation Tripwire not only provides a list of activities that can indicate possible terrorist activity but provides the means to report the activity in an anonymous fashion.¨
The violence and repression that we suffered in Denver due to our political beliefs, was not unique in the Occupy assembly or the history of political expression in the United States. The FBI, CIA DHS US military and private security interests, placed nationwide conference call to mayors of cities where peaceful political assemblies were taking place. During this conversation, the federal government dictated to the mayors that they are to make an example out of us and violently crack down on the peaceful assemblies. The federal government’s template for repression was, “We respect people’s constitutional (human) rights but this is about health and safety.” That simple and patiently false statement elated mayors and law enforcement across the nation as they could now violently attack people peacefully assembled, based on their political opinion, for health and safety. The above statement and the results show the state clearly did not care about health and safety and were simply using it as a guise for repression of human rights. Yet, this is exactly as the federal government and its private owners, directed, as it mitigated focus from the issues people were raising. This mitigation of issues and false concerns over health and safety also perpetuated propaganda campaign aimed at discrediting and criminalizing people exercising their human rights.
This template of false concern regarding health and safety is one of the most insulting lies to come out of the violation of our human rights. Across the nation states implied that people of all ages came together to discuss very serious political issues yet could not take care of themselves and needed the state to look out for our health and safety. As in Denver, when mayor Handcock, most condescendingly, said he was concerned about health and safety yet allowed no porta-potties and even strictly enforced the 11pm park curfew making using the bathrooms in Civic Center Park a crime. This health and safety insult also fails to recognize the assistance many assemblies gave the city in their efforts to clean up. Finally I am personally insulted as I spent many hours making sure the park and kitchen, where we served people food, was clean. And not one person getting sick in thousands of free, delicious and healthy meals fed on the street!
Documents from the Department of Homeland Security in Denver specifically mention working with local law enforcement, however redacting the officer’s names public disclosure again violating CORA laws. DHS, site a possible protest regarding medical marijuana and the violent arrest by the DEA of medical marijuana providers on October 14th as a possible threat to government operations. Treating people as a threat who are peacefully exercising political opinion against government policy in front of a government building shows that the government is persecuting us because our political beliefs.
All information recovered from the FBI went through the FBI’s Terrorism Task Force located in Littleton, Colorado. What we have learned from the cripplingly redacted official papers is the Bank Fraud Working Group, which is comprised of and works for the private banking interests, held a meeting with private banks and the local law enforcement on November 11, 2011 to discuss the Occupy Denver assembly. As the discontent expressed in people’s political opinion was directed at the banks, this private-public group worked assiduously to stifle our peaceful political assembly.
The FBI’s Joint Terrorist Taskforce and Bank Fraud Working Group viewed both myself and others as terrorist threats, and sent agents to threaten us based on a clearly legal political action.
On December 12 I went in to my state mandated pretrial meeting, which is the state’s way of making a person guilty until proven innocent in legal proceedings. There I was led to an office where two FBI Domestic Terrorism Task Force agents attempted to integrate me. It was I and the two FBI agents in the room, when one of the agents read this section of the US code regarding terrorism,
"A person who, without lawful authority, uses, threatens, or attempts or conspires to use, a weapon of mass destruction—shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life, and if death results, shall be punished by death or imprisoned for any term of years or for life."
At which point I said I would like to talk to my lawyers. I then called my lawyers Adam Platt and Robert Corry. To justify the allegations that I was a terrorist the FBI agents said they received an anonymous tip from FBI informants specifically placed in Occupy Denver to spy and disrupt a peaceful political assembly. The repression used by the state in claiming I was planning terrorism put me in enough fear for my life and liberty that I did not participate in a legal expression of my political opinion.
This federally directed campaign of violence and repression of this policy was felt nationwide.
In Houston, Texas the FBI redacted the name of an FBI agent who as of October 2011 planned to engage in sniper attacks against protests in leaders of the occupy movement, if deemed necessary. Page 61.
¨An identified [redacted] of October planned to engage in sniper attacks against protesters in Houston, Texas, if deemed necessary. An identified [redacted] had received intelligence that indicated the protesters in New York and Seattle planned similar protests in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. [Redacted] planned to gather intelligence against the leaders of the protest groups and obtain photographs then formulate a plan to kill the leadership via suppressed sniper rifles."
The agent, the FBI is concealing also gathered intelligence on whom this person thought was the leadership of the peaceful political assemblies around the nation. This assassination plan was forward to all FBI offices on October 13, 2011. Most of the rest of the report is redacted making it impossible knowing the full extent of the FBI's assassination plans in Houston and around the nation.
"Specifically authorized under criteria established by Executive order to be kept secret in the interest of national defense of foreign policy and are in fact properly classified to such Executive order."
This is the justification presented by the FBI documents for redacting a wide majority of the report specifically the sections discussing the FBI's assassination plans. This excuse for the redaction's and the communication with the White House held in these documents show the Executive Office of the United States and the President of the United States are actively engaged in assassination plans against American citizens. This is a continued and terrifying trend the US Government is asserting.
As the governments of the United States of America is on record spying, infiltrating, plotting and carrying out assassination attempts against peaceful political assemblies and has specifically targeted me for exercising my human rights, I am unwilling and unable to avail myself of the protection of the governments of the United States of America.
